This blog will address my life-long interface with Pop Music and may branch out from there. The title is from a Belinda Carlisle song.

My definition of Pop has to do with a site of rapt, de-secularized emotion within the context of song and on a mass scale. This is might not be everyone's definition of Pop. That's ok. My ideas about Pop music are influenced alot by the critic Simon Reynolds, who wrote something I think about the operative emotion in Pop music being one of obsession. I will look this up when I'm able to check out Bring The Noise from the public library, after paying the hefty fine I owe.
